Surprisingly nice, refreshing and tangy - As part of Lidl's fairly recent expansion of offering "meal deal" style food to go, they are now offering a fairly sizable pack of Chicken Katsu "Dragon Rolls". While no meal deal in sight, it was still good value for money.
Good North East based chain of curry! - Bao Down is one of the few chains which appear in many of the STACK multi-vendor venues, along with a North East favourite Greek food chain, Acropolis. Their chicken katsu curry option provided a good amount of sticky rice, curry and well prepared chicken.
Surprisingly Good - What I thought would be either terrible, or just the Sweet Curry sauce McDonalds UK offers, this was a pleasant surprise with what feels like the right flavours. Although the amount of salad could be off-putting, and there could be more sauce.
Why is it green!? - I'm slightly impressed. For a chain who is not only popular, but their entire brand identity is around being a middle ground "asian inspired food japanese restaurant" they seemingly missed the boat and produced this. While the chicken and rice have no issues, I'm impressed by how green the sauce is. And also how it's missing what feels like at least 50% of the flavour.
